HISTORY

1974

TOM’S Co. was founded in 1974 by two great individuals, a Toyota factory driver named Nobuhide Tachi and a Toyota dealership engineer, Kiyoshi Oiwa.Overcoming tremendous hardships such as the oil recession era, the entrepreneurs put all their efforts into motorization, becoming one of the most prominent corporations in motorsport history. The company’s capital was 2,000,000 Yen.
Entry in the GC Masters race.

1975 –1978

1975 Acquired approval to become a tuning entity for Toyota.
1977 Overall champions of Malaysian Grand Prix.
1978 A garage is opened in Nishitamagun, Tokyo.

1978

TOM’S first ever original wheel named the Igeta Wheel TOM’S Rally was developed.

1980

1750cc kit for the 2TG engine was developed.The development of the 2.0 liter kit soon followed.

1982–1983

1982 Capital reaches 10,000,000 Yen.
First ever Group C machine (TOM’S Celica C) takes 5th overall in WEC.
1983 Establishes a new operation in Setagaya, Tokyo for expansion.
The racing garage relocates to Gotemba, Shizuoka.

1985

First ever entry in the 24 Hour Le Mans race.

1987

Registered as Toyota Team TOM’S as the official manufacturer team for Toyota.

1988

TOM’S GB division enters the WSPC.

1988

Release of their line of complete vehicles, the C5 Soarer and the C5 Supra.

1991–1992

1991 Capital increases to 50,000,000 Yen.
1992 Takes 2nd place in the 24 Hour Le Mans race.
Takes Championship in F3 Macao GP. (TOM’S 032F)

1993–1994

As a dealer option, Toyota Motor Corporation releases the Tom’s original aluminum wheel line for the Celica and Levin.
1994 2 time champions of the Japan Touring Car Championship. (Corona)
2 consecutive and 3 time series champions of the Japan Formula 3 Championship.

1995

The development of the lightweight complete vehicles, T101, T082, and T020.

1996

TOM’S products are officially made available at Toyota dealerships nationwide.
The Advox suspension system is released.

1997

2 time series champions of the Japan Grand Touring Car Championship. (Supra)
3 time champions of the Japan Formula 3 Championship.

1998

Series champions of the Japan Touring Car Championship. (Chaser)

1999

Team champions of Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.
Series champions of Japan F3 Championship.
Conquers F3 Macao GP & Korea SP.
Development of the Altezza 280T commissioned by Team Net’z. Limited production of 100 vehicles.

2000

200 limited edition complete vehicles labeled VA300 Tom’s, are produced for Toyota’s Vista dealerships.

2002

Tom’s creations, F070 Celsior and the Z382 Soarer are displayed at Toyota Motor Co’s booth at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

2003

Hyper Compressor Kits are released.

2006

2 time series champions of the Super GT Championship. (Lexus SC430)
2 entries in the Formula Nippon, taking 2nd in series.

2006

Customized parts for Lexus are released.

2008

Team champions of the Super GT Championship. (Lexus SC430)

2010

Acquired André Lotterer, who was a Team & Driver champion in the Formula Nippon Championship Series.

2012

Acquired Kazuki Nakajima, who was a Team & Driver champion in the Formula Nippon Championship Series.

2013

Acquired Yuichi Nakayama, an All-Japan F3 Team & Driver Champion.

2014

Acquired an All-Japan F3 Team & Driver Champion

2015

Acquired an All-Japan F3 Team & Driver Champion

2017

Acquired Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy, who were Team Champions in the SUPER GT (in Car #37, KeePer TOM’S LC500)

2018

Due to the transfer of shares on February 28, the same year
Became a consolidated subsidiary of Mobcast Holdings Inc.
Achieved the Triple Crown in the All Japan F3 Championship, Driver, Team, and Engine Tuner categories.

2019

SUPER GT Annual Team Champion

2020

Announced the complete cars TOM'S SUPRA and TOM'S CENTURY.
At the Tokyo International Custom Car Contest 2020
TOM ’S CENTURY won the Sedan Category Excellence Award.
Won the SUPER FORMULA team champion.
SUPER FORMULA LIGHTS Driver, Team,
Won the first champion in the engine tuner category. Achieved the Triple Crown.
Management buyout (MBO) by management.
